Universal design for learning: beyond accessibility, learning styles and differentiation

08 October 2021 12:45 - 13:30

When we design lessons for those in the margin we create learning that works better for everyone. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an approach to curriculum design that gives all students an equal opportunity to succeed. This session will provide an overview of how UDL can provide a truly inclusive learning environment and why now is the perfect time to adopt the principles of UDL for the benefit of all of our learners.

Learning objectives:

  • Know about Universal Design for Learning (UDL), its origins and evidence
  • Understand the three core principles of UDL
  • Consider how UDL might practically be implemented in your setting
  • Know where to get further information about UDL
