Transition support for literacy: a passport for SEN learners

08 October 2021 11:45 - 12:30

Imagine the child’s school, with access to strategies that support learning, wellbeing and literacy as one side of a coin. In education, transition is inevitable, and the next school, teacher, or team that will support the learner’s journey is the other side.
Our knowledge is the band that joins the two sides together.

In this session you will find out how parents, SEN teachers and educational professionals can better support the transition process. Julia will be demonstrating practical solutions for transition support, sharing literacy strategies and talking about how to create an effective passport for learning.

Julia will be sharing her free book The Literacy Passport and showing you how to:

  • Identify reading difficulties and track them over time
  • Create a Pen Portrait that includes essential info for transition
  • Explore transition strategies that includes the voice of all stakeholders
Suitable for Key Stage 1 - 4
Free to attend
