October is Dyslexia Awareness Month and Go Red, part of the Succeed with Dyslexia movement, is a campaign determined to bring together a global community of passionate individuals and organisations using the colour red to promote a greater understanding of dyslexia.

Go Red’s vision is a world where dyslexia people are understood and have the tools to succeed.

But why red? Throughout education, red has always been a colour associated with highlighting mistakes. Dyslexia Associations have decided to take back the colour red and use it to promote dyslexia awareness globally in a fun and positive way.

Dyslexia is a learning difference that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling (definition taken from the British Dyslexia Association).

For over 25 years, the Tes SEN Show has shone the light onto special educational needs (SEN) of all varieties, providing a platform for educators, parents, and carers to share best practice to help bring learning alive for all children and young people with SEN. The show always features a strong focus on dyslexia, with a number of dedicated CPD seminars from leading experts and wide variety dedicated exhibitors.

This year, the Tes SEN Show is proudly joining the #GoRedForDyslexia movement to raise awareness of Dyslexia Awareness Month and show our support for dyslexic children and young people around the world.

The Tes SEN Show’s Event Director, Matt Govett, said:

“We’re delighted to be supporting the global #GoRedForDyslexia movement to help raise awareness of dyslexia. It’s a fantastic opportunity to promote a greater understanding of dyslexia and highlight what tools are available to help every dyslexic person succeed.”
