Below are some of the more frequently asked questions about the Tes SEN Show. If you can't find the answer to your question, just contact us and we'll be happy to help.


Who can attend the Tes SEN Show 2018?

The Tes SEN Show is for everyone in the SEN community and is relevant to all roles within and connected to the provision of education for children with SEN. Please note that children under 18 are allowed at the event under the supervision of an adult, but children under the age of 16 are strictly not permitted to access any of the seminars.

No children under 18 are allowed on site during the show’s set up or breakdown.


How much does it cost to attend the Tes SEN Show 2018?

The Tes SEN Show is free to attend – all visitors have full access to the exhibition, the Exhibitor Workshop Theatre, the Spotlight Theatre, the Parent and Carer Forum. Visiotrs can also access the Opening Keynote Debate but must register their interest in attending this during the registration process.

There are however a range of fees for attending seminars . Each seminar place costs £15 (+VAT) person if booked by 27th July 2018 during the Early Bird period. From 28th July the cost per seminar place is £18 (+VAT). During the show, seminar places booked onsite cost £20 (+VAT).


What subjects will be covered at the Tes SEN Show 2018?

The seminar programme will focus a on a rich mix of vitally important topics central to SEN best practice and policy. This year the programme has a particular focus on social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and also contains statutory guidance for the entire education workforce, with more than half of the sessions directly related to the SEND Code of Practice 2015: 0-25.

All the sessions will be delivered by renowned SEN experts and will be informative and educational with a view that all attendees can take away new ideas to put into practice straightaway. The full programme will be announced in April 2018.


What level of experience and ability do the seminars cover?

Each seminar on the programme has a reference to what 'Level/s' it is relevant to. The definition of the Levels is as follows:

Level 1: seminars for people who are new to SEN  or have limited knowledge of this topic

Level 2: seminars for people who have some knowledge or experience of working with SEN/this topic

Level 3: seminars for people who have significant knowledge or experience of working with SEN/this topic


Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

The seminar programme at the Tes SEN Show 2018 is CPD certified. All visitors who attend a seminar will be emailed their certificate after the show. It is vital that your badge is scanned as you enter the seminar room so that a record is kept of your attendance.


How do I pay for seminar places?

Seminar places should be booked online and paid for by debit or credit card. There are NO administration fees. If you are unable to pay by card and require an invoice to be supplied, please contact Sophie Kerr on 0207 501 6343.

For seminars booked onsite during the show, payment can be taken both by cash and card.


Are refreshments available at the Tes SEN Show 2018?

Yes. There will be a catering point on the main exhibition floor serving tea, coffee, cold drinks and sandwiches. On the Gallery Level, visitors can also eat at the Gallery Restaurant. 


Is there disabled access at the Tes SEN Show 2018?

Yes. The Business Design Centre has disabled access throughout the venue.


Will there be sign language support at the Tes SEN Show 2018?

Yes. There will be sign language support at the show in the seminars. Please contact us in advance if you have specific requirements or visit the organisers' office on the day. Steve Almy, an interpreter who has worked with deaf people for 30 years, will be at the show and available on demand.

I've been receiving emails from external companies. Are they legitimate? 

Here at MA Exhibitions (organisers of Tes SEN Show), we have recently become aware of a series of fraudulent emails to speakers and exhibitors from companies claiming to be officially partnered with the show, offering marketing services, access to the show's data and/or hotel reservation services. We are not in any way affiliated with these companies and advise you to ignore their emails and avoid clicking on any links contained within them. Your security is important to us, so if you're unsure whether or not an email you have received is fraudulent, please get in touch and we'd be happy to verify it for you. We would also like to reassure you that we do not release, sell or share any data related to the Tes SEN Show with any outside parties.
